Omexom has delivered for operation the last of the 44 production units of the Enel Green Power hydroelectric power plant automation project
In the beginning of February, Omexom commissioned Unit 5 of the Isamu Ikeda SHP plant, owned by Enel Green Power. This delivery represents the 44th and last of the production units that were part of Enel Green Power's project for automating Hydropower Plants.
With this milestone, Omexom’s teams completed our operations in all the 14 HPPs included in the project. 5MW were added to the total 120MW.
Signed on October 2018, the project presented several challenges, such as its territorial scope, involving power plants in Mato Grosso (7), Tocantins (4), São Paulo (2) and Paraná (1).
Omexom’s teams demonstrated their multidisciplinary abilities to integrate the different areas involved and to operate plants of different sizes and types. Omexom’s supply mainly concerned the protection, control, instrumentation and regulation systems of the power plants and included several auxiliary supplies: spillway control, level measurements, network cleaners, emergency diesel generators, auxiliary service supplies, hydraulic groups, etc.
The scope of application, although specific and variable for each of the plants, included the development or revision of the PLC control systems in 100% of the plants, in addition to the development of the supervision system for all the plants. Over 100 columns of electrical switchboards were powered, enabling Enel’s 44 green energy production units to be operated safely from its control room.
